Part Four:Writing and Translation>>Writing Return Five Aspects in a Narration 1.Context When, where and to whom the action in a narrative happened is often made clear at the beginning of the narrative. This will provide the reader with a context,or circumstances,to help him understand the whole narrative. For example,in the passage "A True Love Story",the writer first gives the reader a description of the background of Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning respectively

An example here is in "Appointment with Love".When Blandford was waiting for Meynell with whom he had a correspondence, the writer described a beautiful young woman he met on the street and didn't know at all.At last, Blandford found out who was the real Meynell and the writer needn't bother to describe how beautiful the girl was and therefore gives the story a powerful ending without saying too much

The passage "Detour to Romance"begins from the middle of the story, then flashes back to the beginning and at last the end seems surprising but natural to accept. Another story "Appointment with Love"is told in time order. And the writer highlights the time to make the reader to have the same feelings as the persons in the story. For example: “six minutes to six",“in six minutes”,“four minutes to six', "one minute to six"...From these strong awareness of time we can clearly see how excited the man was

It is not necessary to set aside one or two paragraphs at last to tell the point of view specially. For example,in "A True Love Story",the writer shows us his disapproval of Elizabeth's father by simply saying "A week later, without telling Elizabeth's father, the happy couple eloped to Italy. The shock was terrible for Mr.Barrett, but his anger could not diminish their happiness
